The corridor

West on NH-65 through Zaheerabad into Karnataka’s northern tip, past Solapur into Maharashtra, then via Pune’s bypass and the Mumbai–Pune Expressway down the ghats into the city — or the newer Samruddhi Mahamarg alignment for northern Mumbai destinations.

The Pune–Mumbai Expressway descent through the ghats is the section that needs the most care with a supine patient — we slow the vehicle and the attendant watches the patient through the winding stretch. Mumbai arrivals need destination planning more than any other city: a transfer to Navi Mumbai hospitals ends an hour earlier than one to Lilavati or Breach Candy in the island city.

Frequently asked questions

How do you handle Mumbai city traffic at the end of a 700 km transfer?

We plan the entry by destination: Navi Mumbai and Thane hospitals are reached from the expressway with little city driving; island-city hospitals (Bandra, Mahim, Parel) are best entered late night or early morning. The attendant informs the receiving hospital an hour out so the bay is ready.

How long does an ambulance take from Hyderabad to Mumbai?

About 13–16 hours for the 710 km via NH-65 → NH-48 / Samruddhi link, including patient halts. Ambulances drive steadily for the patient’s comfort — a private car’s time is not the right benchmark.

Can a critical patient travel from Hyderabad to Mumbai by road?

Usually yes, with the right configuration: ICU vehicle, matching crew, oxygen with deep reserve, and en-route hospitals marked. The treating doctor’s travel clearance is the starting point — we screen every case honestly and advise if rail or air would serve better.

How do we get a quotation for this route?

Call +91 99210 86108 or send an enquiry with the patient’s condition and pickup details. We confirm the configuration and provide a written quotation before dispatch.
